ABSTRACT

An electronic and magnetic properties of Al full heusler alloy was investigated in this paper Using the SPRKKR Greens function we investigated the detailed electronic structure of Cobalt based heusler alloys in CrAl, of both ordered and disordered state. Density functional theory was used within PBE-GGA Approximation. L21 Ordered Al shows 100% spin polarization within all the approximations, the half metallicity is also observed in YZ disordered state and experimentally obtained values of the magnetic moments are obtained by reducing the symetry. The exchange coupling between Co and Cr causes the variation in structural and magnetic properties. Obtained half metallic properties are mainly because of hybridizations between Co and Cr elements

ABSTRACT

Inadequate access to electricity in the country has been a major cog in the wheel of progress to socio-economic and technological growth of the nation.  Increasing erratic and power shortages in Nigeria has been identified as responsible for the dwindling development of small scale business down to industrial sectors. This paper has therefore sorts the need to analyze the important to improve on harnessing Photovoltaic (PV) energy. Solar sun tracking is used to have sun intensity perpendicular on solar cell from sunset to sunrise. The result shows that at least 60% energy can be tracked every hours of the day sustaining the efficiency of electricity as needed. Recommendations are made, that Government should be more pro-active in its drive in the provision of electricity to the nation. All the laudable plans over the years gearing towards electricity generation should be lifted from paper to execution. Sun tracking model should be emphasized on as a means for sustainable electricity, economic development, poverty alleviation measures, and module for teaching and learning in higher institutions.

ABSTRACT

This study examined the flood in Kaduna using the meteorological characteristics of Kaduna River watershed by Regression analysis with Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS 20). The hydrological parameters used for the study include; precipitation, relative humidity and temperature records from 2010 to 2014 collected from Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET). The results obtained from the flood model created using the meteorological records showed that 2011 has the highest values for discharge and river stage as 22553.1758mm3/s and 3.7.5353m respectively hence justifying the devastated flood during that period. From the results, correlation coefficient, R=0.497 and coefficient of determination, R2 = 0.247 for the model. The significant F of the discharge is 0.739 which is higher than 0.5 acceptable limits. These show the significance of the parameters used for creating the models were ok. The model can be adopted for flood studies in the basin for future studies.

A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL INTERNET SECURITY

ABSTRACT

Today, the World Wide Web is used for information, commerce, news, weather, music, audio and video conferencing, database access, file sharing, with new features cropping up almost daily. Each has its own security concerns and weaknesses. The frequency and sophistication of Internet attacks have increased. These changes in the Internet community and its security needs prompted the first bona fide defense measures. The network must be protected from outside attacks that could cause loss of information, breakdowns in network integrity, or breaches in security. As the Internet has matured, however, so have the threats to its safe use, and so must the security paradigms used to enable business use of the Internet. This paper presentation summarizes a multi-dimensional (which is mandatory these days to discourage ever-more sophisticated threats to the network) approach to security in the present scenario as against a single-dimensional approach, which is no longer adequate, and very much a popular target to attack. The will eventually make the country a safer nation on the net.
